Sunrise Story
About Our School
Sunrise is a Kindergarten and Long Day Care Centre for children aged 3 to 5 years, established in 1993 and has branches in Fitzroy and Thornbury.
The curriculum is based on Neohumanist Education Philosophy. The school is a not for-profit educational project of Ananda Marga. Sunrise is managed by a committee of management.

About Ananda Marga
Ananda Marga is an international organisation which teaches yoga and meditation for personal development and runs a variety of social service projects globally. It was founded in 1955 by the late Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar (1921 -1990). In Australia, Ananda
Marga is a registered not for profit charity.

Our Directors
Didi Ananda Ashesa – North Fitzroy, VIC
Didi Ashesa has been the Director of Ananda Marga since 2000 and Director of Sunrise Preschool since 2017. She qualified in Victoria as an educator for early childhood and has many years of experience working with children in Romania, Finland, Sweden, India and Australia. Didi is also a yoga and meditation teacher and imparts her knowledge with love and compassion.
Didi Ananda Nirupama – Thornbury, Vic
Didi Nirupama has been the Director of Sunrise Preschool since its inception in 2016. She qualified in Victoria as an early childhood educator, and has many years of experience working with children in the Philippines, United States of America, Poland, Holland, Iceland and Australia. Didi is also a yoga and meditation teacher where she imparts her knowledge through love for music, art and storytelling.
Our Educators
We love what we do and are highly committed. We want to develop that feeling of the interconnectedness of all things and to nurture an attitude of love and respect for the environment and the created world. Our educators are highly qualified and are a dedicated team of professionals, who play an important role to deliver our programs and be a huge a part in our children’s development.
We carefully plan daily activities to encourage children’s love and respect for all life, including animals and nature.
